Asynchronous Micro-Courses
The Small School Districts Association has learned through the implementation of the CS4NorCal US Department of Education research grant that participants value the opportunity to choose both the professional learning content and the delivery formats. As such, a workshop like Code.org’s CS Discoveries can be offered during different weeks of the summer, as well as using in-person, hybrid, and virtual delivery formats.
There are tradeoffs between each format. Organizers should consider those tradeoffs with developing an agenda. A document describing different workshop formats is below:
